Health and Safety
Health and safety in the furniture
making and joinery trade has to cover many different aspects from
general policies to COSHH and machine safety. It is an area of
the law where we have to prove that we have done all that we can
to discharge our duty of care.
This aspect of health and safety has become a
subject of interest within Worth Design and we can offer a wide
range of services aimed at small to medium sized woodworking and
manufacturing businesses. These include:
Health and safety surveys where we look at every
aspect of your business from a health and safety standpoint and
provide you with a report detailing both good practice and areas
that require further development.
A review of all your machinery, detailing areas
such as braking, guarding, tooling and training. As part of our
service we will not only help to identify areas that need attention
but, if required, implement the recommendations.
We can also undertake or update risk and COSHH
assessments and provide the training and safe systems of work to
ensure that the control measures identified are implemented and
complied with.
If you require a formal, written health and safety
policy or want to put in place a management system for handling
and integrating health and safety into your business, we can help
provide you with the tools to achieve that objective.
Our view is that there should
be a positive health and safety culture within a business, and
a formal health and safety management system will promote safe,
efficient and cost-effective working practices.
